Center for Offshore wind & Green hydrogen Ammonia Research(COGAR)
이영호 교수 Your visit to Center for Offshore wind & Green hydrogen Ammonia Research(COGAR) is cordially welcomed. The Center was officially established in November 2022 in Korea Maritime & Ocean University(KMOU) campus under the university R&DB foundation affiliation. In the field of maritime sectors such as shipping, port, shipbuilding, decarbonization by non-carbon fuel supply to ocean-going vessels is essential to realize complete CO2 reduction targeted until 2050 year.

Also, in onshore land, demand of hydrogen and ammonia for the power generation will increase drastically supported by reliable hydrogen society roadmap locally and globally. To solve this mega transition to sustainable energy revolution, renewable wind and photovoltaic power are main resources to produce the green hydrogen and green ammonia via electrolysis technology.

The center roles are mainly focused on the technology development of the offshore green hydrogen and ammonia production via electrolysis by utilizing the floating offshore wind power, construction of the relating infra structure and capacity building of the high level human resources.

Continuous interest and effective collaboration suggestion from the domestic and global experts, related companies are greatly expected.

Young-Ho LEE, Center Director
